My first photography workshop

There is a first time for everything they say and last week I had the honour to host my very first photography workshop. I saw clients as grooms, young fathers and mums and friends of friends buying their first DSLR and asking me questions about the camera, about shooting in dark rooms, about how to take better pictures of their children. I loved to explain all these things to each person as I really enjoy teaching but I figured what fun it could be to host a workshop for that target group. So last Thursday night we prepared the studio for the first workshop. We arranged the chairs, the TV for the presentation and some nice food and a lot of water. Gregory Porter was playing silently in the background when our seven workshop attendees arrived.

I talked about creativity and how to become more creative, how to involve their children in the creative proces and how to learn from children as their fantasy is limitless. I explained what makes an image interesting and of course how to realize the image that we have in our mind with the technique of our camera. Specially shooting into the light was a hot topic for all attendees. We run late because of great discussion and questions but I think that what makes a good workshop a great evening.

Thanks to all attendees who joined us Thursday night and for the wonderful feedback, the questions and the interaction !

If you want to stay up to date for the next workshop dates coming up and dates for personal mentor sessions please sign up for my newsletter here. The next newsletter will be send on April 15th.
