Featured Friday: Susan Davies | Vanilla Pod Design

With my new website I also want to intdroduce a new category on my blog. Every first Friday in the month I want to present you a supplier who inspires me and whoms products I really like. Most of the suppliers I am going to show you will be strong women who run their own company. I want to encourage women with my posts to follow their dream and their passion and to do for living what their really love. Those success stories will hopefully motivate other women to step out of their day job and start their own company. For brides and women who love beautiful things I hope those posts show wonderful suppliers with outstanding products. I want to inspire you to go a step further for your wedding and to look for special suppliers for a special day.I hope you are all going to enjoy this series of blog posts. Leave me and the people I present a comment – they really deserve it.

If you have a supplier for me who should be in this series just let me know.

For me I hope I am going to make it and to show you every first Friday in the month an outstanding supplier and with her products to motivate and to inspire you.

This week I want to present you is Susan Davies and her company Vanilla Pod Design.

I met Susan in April for some questions about her business and to take some portraits. We had a lot of fun chatting about the royal wedding as Susan comes  originally from England now living in Amsterdam. After the very small portrait session we had lunch and she showed me some of her beautiful products and I can just say they are more than special. We laughed, ate and drank mint-tea while we were talking about business, products and of course weddings.

1. What is your business  and what is special about your business?

Susan: My business is called Vanilla Pod Design and I specialise in Personalized and individual wedding stationery. Every invitation needs to be perfect and unique and we use details like ribbons and Swarovski crystals on the invitations to make them extra special.
‘Vanilla Pod Design is a boutique design studio. This means we are big enough to cater for your needs, yet small enough to care for everyone as individuals.  The stationery we supply is beautiful, handcrafted and designed to be as perfect as the day wedding you are planning.’
2. How long are you working in your own company and what did you do before ?

Susan:  I have lived in the Netherlands for just over 3 years and Vanilla Pod Design was started after I moved here with my partner.  I have been always been interested in creativity and design and I studied design at university in Liverpool. I have also worked as a buyer for homewear products and toys for  both internet and high street retailers before I started my own company.

You will find here some pictures  of Susan and her wonderful products. I was so impressed by all the details of her stationery and I had a wonderful lunch time with a warm and open person. Thank you Susan for your openess and the fun afternoon we had.
