International wedding at the Steverburg | Ursula & Amjid Part I
They met through a mutual friend and colleague who played cupid in 2007. One night the friend took her to a pub in East Dulwich in London where he was a quiz master once a week. They lost terribly but had a lot of fun and a nice evening and about a week and a half later they went on their first date. In 2009 their relationship got more serious and they went together on a vacation. For her it was just a beautiful vacation to Dubai – but he was planning all the time something bigger than just a vacation. One day out of the blue he asked her if she wants to swim with dolphins and as she loves scuba diving she thought it was a very cute idea. They had great fun with their dolphin Blackie and were pulled several times by him through the water. After about an hour everyone left the water and so did we, except that Amjid called Ursula back in, saying that we they were not done yet and Blackie was coming back for them. She was confused as everybody had left and wondered why Blackie would come back for them. So the dolphin arrived with a little parcel around his neck which she had to open. And there he went on one knee and proposed in the water. Luckily he had found a shallow part so that his head was out whilst kneeling. Everything was planned perfectly and a big surprise for Ursula who of course said „Yes“.When wedding couples plan their wedding from abroad I am most likely more involved in the whole process as I will give local tips and recommendations. When I first met Ursula and Amjid in December 2010 I already knew their wedding would be wonderful but their day was not only wonderful it was stunning. Ursula is a designer and so she created all the artwork for the wedding. She painted a little canvas as a name board for each guest, she painted the design for the invitations and for the table setting by herself and she even created a huge canvas with her design for all guests to leave them messages. She was getting ready at her parents house together with her bridesmaids. He was waiting impatiently and overwhelmed by emotions when she finally walked down the aisle with her father and her bridesmaids. After the ceremony they were welcomed by their family and friends with flowers and a huge painted heart in front of the church. The crowd left with a red English double decker bus and the couple had a moment of quiet and enjoying being newly wed in front of my camera during the portrait session. From there on the day full just full of laugh and love and international spirit and speeches during the reception and the dinner. Thank you Ursula & Amjid for letting me capture your beautiful wedding day and your love. It was a great pleasure and honor to get to know you better and be part of your „two“ weddings. They celebrated their wedding with their closest friends and family to make sure to have time to speak and dance with everybody. Three weeks later they had a traditional Pakistan Walima in London to welcome more than 150 guests and celebrate their wedding once more. Keep an eye on the blog – the Walima will be blogged soon.[audio:https://www.jenniferhejna.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Josh-Garrels-Love-War-The-Sea-In-Between-17-Pilot-Me.mp3|titles=Josh Garrels – Love & War & The Sea In Between – 17 Pilot Me]
