We love – Date night and cooking together

Last year for Christmas we got two aprons from my dad. One red apron for me and a blue one for Conrad. These aprons are super practical as they have a towel on the from to clean your hands while you are cooking ( you know how often you are searching for a towel while your are cooking). So we took this gift as a sign and started a new tradition for ourselves. Once a week (if we are at home and not busy) we would take the time for a date night and cook together. We always try to cook different new things that we didn’t cook before instead of just putting a pizza in the oven. We take the time to prepare each meal, listen to slow jazz and drink a nice wine that will fit the dish perfectly.

What we like most about this new tradition is, that we create (hopefully) something together with a great result, that we keep talking about something different than our work, that we have time together and that we grow together with each new meal that we never cooked before.

This Friday we made some risotto with tomato mozarella on the side. Here is a glimpse into our kitchen. The recipe is from Jamie Oliver. But as I like to change recipes I added sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms.

P.S. We have a very small kitchen so we need to use even the space on the fridge to store stuff.
