Wow how to start this post. It is going to be a personal one. I have love around me every day as a wedding photographer. It is my life and it is my work and I love to hear these love stories from my couples over and over again but when it comes to our story I sit silently behind my desk and smile and remember and I just don’t find the words. So this post is dedicated to my love: to Conrad.

In 2012 I got a wedding inquiry from Tobi and Swantje saying they were referred by Jenny. I was pleasantly surprised as I haven't seen or spoken to Jenny since 2004 when we graduated from High School. Two months later on their wedding I met Jenny again and she introduced me to her boyfriend (back then) Martin. At the end of the evening Martin came to me and told me "Once when Jenny and I get married you will be our photogrpaher too" And so I was again pleasantly surprised when Jenny wrote me that she got engaged to Martin and they wanted me and Conrad to capture it.

When I started out as a wedding photographers and I didn't educate my clients about lighting and when the best lighting for their wedding photography would be I was often forced to photograph at noon with the sun at it's highest. And some timetables of weddings still just offer me the option to shoot with harsh light. So when we started this serie of videos in March we decided to break it into different parts as there a plenty of options to shoot at noon.

When we met up with Anne and Sebastian for their engagement session in Münster they brought us real Belgian pralines. Living in Belgium this was not a big surprise you would say but receiving an unexpected gift is always a surprise to me ! And while I write these words these little pralines wander one after the other into my stomach. These two really know the way to my little photographer heart.

Last Tuesday we had the first wedding photographer meetup in Münster. I was super excited who would come and happy to see more than ten photographers show up at Alex Brasserie. It was a mixed group which I loved and we talked about photograhpy, about business about wedding planners and about social media.

When you arrive in Norddeich and take the ferry to the little island Juist you cannot do anything but calm down. You see the mainland fading slowly and the sky starts touching the water. You hear nothing but the sound of the ferry and you feel your thoughts and heatbeat getting a step slower. I was excited to go to Juist to photograph Patrice and Sascha's engagement session as I have never been to that island before.
