In Germany it is still common for bridal couples to get married in a church. Though young couples more and more decide to get a free ceremony instead of blessings from God. Styled Shoot at the beach of Wassenaar

I know it has been quiet here. We moved and like always it takes a while to get the internet running again and then there were some technical problems on my website so I really couldn’t blog.

A classy wedding in Maastricht | Nancy & Alex

A wedding ceremony in a museum is a dream for art lovers. Nancy and Alex’ wedding make this dream come true for them and for me to capture it. It was a beautiful day in June, the weather was just perfect and the locations were adorable. Nancy planned the whole day into the details so nothing was left to chance. We had the chance to get two portrait sessions on the day to capture them in their chosen home city Maastricht and to get some lovely pictures in the countryside. Nancy and Alex love Burgundian lifestyle with good food and wine and a touch of French “Savoir-Vivre”. Nancy is a French teacher and I just felt home when I saw all the beautiful French books in her bookshelf. I enjoyed sharing the passion for French with one of my brides. Read the full post

Spring wedding in Lage Vuursche | Mieke & Ruben

Last Friday I was in Lage Vuursche in the Netherlands to photograph the wedding of Mieke and Ruben.

They met each other virtually through MSN – something that sounds so old fashioned today that it just shows us how quickly time is running. The easy it was to talk through a chat where you don’t see each other the difficult it was for them to talk in person. He invited her for the cinema and she refused as she was too shy to spend an whole evening with him. So his sister took action an invited him in with some other friends. They didn’t talk all evening but when he left he gave her the first kiss. Her parents were secretly watching from the top of the stairs and happy that they finally found each other in real life. The whole setting was in a big winter garden of the … Hotel in London. All tables and chairs were white and the decoration was inspired by 1001 nights. Read the full post

Intimate civil wedding in Nienborg | Olga & Michael

She was working out on the cross trainer and didn’t even recognize him at all while he was secretly falling in love at the gym. It took him some time and several attempts until Olga went on the first date with the “guy from the gym”. She fall in love, theiy moved together and build a house and now after 13 years together they finally tied the knot.
