This was not only my first wedding in the beautiful city of Hamburg this was also the wedding of two wonderful people that just got married with their closest family and friends. As a wedding photographer who tells the story of a couple I love weddings where every guest has a special story with the couple and an intimate atmosphere can be felt during the day. Gordon and Katrina came from Hong Kong to Amsterdam in April right around the huge Queens day. Their friends Thomas and Fiona told them, that if they come to Amsterdam that they should do a couple session with me. The best way to get professional images of Amsterdam with them in the picture.
So Gordon contacted me with a special idea: He wanted to propose during that love shoot to Katrina. I was super excited and we planned that secret proposal during their real “engagement session”. I planned the tour through Amsterdam and for the proposal I chose the “Begijnhof” as a more calm place surrounded by the old houses of Amsterdam. Read the full post
Photographing at the beach is a privilege for every photographer. I just love to play with it in good and bad weather. This couple wasn’t very lucky with their weather at the North Sea in Lübeck on their wedding day. But much more important than weather on their wedding day was their love and being together with their loved ones. What mattered was that they were getting married. Read the full post
First of all I have to admit I have a weakness for winter weddings – I just love the cozyness, I love that everything is planned rain proof and I love the colors and the atmosphere of a winter day.
This past December we had the honour to photograph the wedding of MC and Thomas at the beautiful location Het Fonteinhof in Borgloon in Belgium. When I first met MC and Thomas for their engagement session in Tervuren we walked the beautiful park of Tervuren to capture them with the proposal drawn into a tree. Seeing them now again was like walking into a wedding of friends. Read the full post
In Germany it is still common for bridal couples to get married in a church. Though young couples more and more decide to get a free ceremony instead of blessings from God. In August 2012 I had the honour to photograph the wedding of Alex & Christian in the backyard of the Spanish restaurant La Provincia in Münster. They met 6 years ago through a friend. They started dating is secret to cherish the moments together and to first see if they belong to each other. Read the full post
One of my favorite vendors and dear friend Giada Graziani and me decided a while ago that we wanted to do a styled shoot together. It is easy to decide such things but most of the time these ideas and alliances just stay an idea and no one takes the first step into organizing. Read the full post
I know it has been quiet here. We moved and like always it takes a while to get the internet running again and then there were some technical problems on my website so I really couldn’t blog.
So I am back with very good news. The Dutch magazine Bruid & Bruidegom (also known in Germany as Braut & Bräutigam) announced the nominations of the “Bruidsfoto Award 2013″ and I am beyond proud and happy to tell you that one of my images has been nominated in the category “Reception” (Taart & Toast). For the second part of Lily and Tom’s wedding I want to let Lily speak herself with some quotes I took from her emails she sent me after she saw her wedding pictures.
A wedding ceremony in a museum is a dream for art lovers. Nancy and Alex’ wedding make this dream come true for them and for me to capture it. It was a beautiful day in June, the weather was just perfect and the locations were adorable. Nancy planned the whole day into the details so nothing was left to chance. We had the chance to get two portrait sessions on the day to capture them in their chosen home city Maastricht and to get some lovely pictures in the countryside. Nancy and Alex love Burgundian lifestyle with good food and wine and a touch of French “Savoir-Vivre”. Nancy is a French teacher and I just felt home when I saw all the beautiful French books in her bookshelf. I enjoyed sharing the passion for French with one of my brides. Read the full post
