Oriental inspired wedding in London | Ursula & Amjid Part II

Three weeks after the wonderful wedding of Ursula and Amjid in Germany I had the honor to also capture their traditional Walima in London. When you think that Ursula’s ideas for the styling in Germany were already great well than you should have a look at those details. The whole setting was in a big winter garden of the … Hotel in London. All tables and chairs were white and the decoration was inspired by 1001 nights. Read the full post

International wedding at the Steverburg | Ursula & Amjid Part I

They met through a mutual friend and colleague who played cupid in 2007. One night the friend took her to a pub in East Dulwich in London where he was a quiz master once a week. They lost terribly but had a lot of fun and a nice evening and about a week and a half later they went on their first date.  In 2009 their relationship got more serious and they went together on a vacation. For her it was just a beautiful vacation to Dubai – but he was planning all the time something bigger than just a vacation. One day out of the blue he asked her if she wants to swim with dolphins and as she loves scuba diving she thought it was a very cute idea. They had great fun with their dolphin Blackie and were pulled several times by him through the water. After about an hour everyone left the water and so did we, except that Amjid called Ursula back in, saying that we they were not done yet and Blackie was coming back for them. She was confused as everybody had left and wondered why Blackie would come back for them. So the dolphin arrived with a little parcel around his neck which she had to open.  And there he went on one knee and proposed in the water.  Luckily he had found a shallow part so that his head was out whilst kneeling. Everything was planned perfectly and a big surprise for Ursula who of course said “Yes”. Read the full post

Intimate civil wedding in Nienborg | Olga & Michael

She was working out on the cross trainer and didn’t even recognize him at all while he was secretly falling in love at the gym. He studied her gym days to see her more often and she didn’t know that at the gym there was the man of her life. It took him some time and several attempts until Olga went on the first date with the “guy from the gym”. She fall in love, theiy moved together and build a house and now after 13 years together they finally tied the knot. They got married in the Fireplace room in Nienborg – a very very small place that just fitted perfectly to their very small wedding with only their parents and siblings. Read the full post

I love you for the man you are,
I love you for the things you do,
I love you for the things you say.
But most of all I love you because
you love me for the woman I am
for the things I do and
for the things I say. I love you

Nominated for the wedding picture award 2012 !!!

I was on vacation in November sitting on my sunny terrace when I got the message from the magazine Bruid&Bruidegom if I could call them back even if I was on vacation. It was really early for the awards so I was wondering what their urgent matter might be. So I called them back. Gerdien told me that I was nominated two times for the awards 2012. I was beyond happy and with the sun and heat this could just be a perfect vacation day ! Read the full post

Greek wedding in Germany

In July this year I was photographing the fantastic and really big fat greek wedding of Sue-Ellen and Panos at Gräflicher Park Bad-Driburg. This huge wedding was again perfeclty organized by Annika Wietzorke.

Even if I have seen quite some weddings this wedding was really special. In between the 350 guests, de perfectly dressed bridesmaids and the million of flowers it were the small moments of anticipation, of excitement and of love that touched me most on this day. The couple called me several times before the wedding to discuss details and during our last call Panos said to me “you know, we just want to get married, that’s all”, and I think that is all that counts. Noreen & Wijnand | Engagement Session in the old town of Münster

Sometimes I get inquieries from couples and I have to say that I am already booked. When Noreen asked me to capture her wedding day this was one of those inquieries. I cannot split myself to do two weddings on one day but Noreen got the idea to do at least an engagement session together. I was more than happy to meet this cute Dutch-German couple in Münster and to take their engagement pictures in the old center of this beautiful city. We talked in German and in Dutch and just had a lot of fun. Read the full post
